Karnataka: SSLC is now mandatory to get government jobs in state

The state government has made SSLC or equivalent educational qualification mandatory for the appointment of any Group D posts including jawan, dalaiat, and in this regard the Karnataka Civil Services Act-1978 has been amended in a notification issued in the State Gazette on June 1.

The interview for direct recruitment of Group C posts in the state civil services has also been abolished and the rule of considering five years probationary period as a criterion for permanent appointment or promotion has also been changed. The state government has clarified that educational qualification less than SSLC cannot be considered for recruitment to Group D service and above state civil services.

Big Relief For School Teachers: Canceled Promotion Exams:

Karnataka Education Minister Madhu Bangarappa said that a meeting will be held before the end of the session to cancel the qualifying examination for the post of pre-graduation college lecturers for high school teachers.
Big relief has been given to the government school teachers of the state through this. Responding to the proposal made by JDS member Marithibbe Gowda in the Legislative Council regarding the loophole in the teacher promotion rules.

Primary and Secondary Education Minister Madhu Bangarappa said that some rules have been formulated for the promotion of teachers from primary school to high school and from high school to pre-graduation colleges. Accordingly, during high school recruitment, 50% of the posts are filled under direct recruitment, while the remaining 50% of the posts are being filled by promoting primary school teachers, he said.

Similarly, during the recruitment of PU college lecturers, 75% of the posts are being filled by promoting high school teachers. He said that the teachers who are promoted as lecturers have to write the qualifying examination, for which the general category should get 55% marks and SC, ST should get 50% marks.
