IMD Issued Heavy Rainfall Alert for Next 7 days

Weather Update Today: Rainfall continued in the southern parts of the country and 39 areas of southern Tamil Nadu received heavy rainfall on Tuesday.

Indian Meteorological Department said that Rains are likely to continue at different places today as well, Kanyakumari, Tirunelveli, Thoothukudi and Tenkashi districts are likely to receive heavy rains today. IMD Isued Heavy Rainfall Alert for Next 7 days.

The Indian Meteorological Department (IMD) has warned that Tamil Nadu is likely to witness heavy rains for the next seven days, while Tamil Nadu, Puducherry and Karaikal are likely to receive light to moderate rains till Saturday. According to IMD, light to moderate rains will continue in Kerala for the next three days.

Orange Alert has been declared in Pathanantitta, Kollam and Thiruvananthapuram district today. Telangana will have dry weather for the next 7 days. Light to moderate rain is forecast at isolated places over north-south coastal Andhra Pradesh, Yanam and Rayalaseema on December 24.

According to Skymet weather report, Lakshadweep is likely to experience light to moderate rain with heavy rain at few places. Light to moderate rain is likely over Tamil Nadu and Kerala. Light rain may occur at few places of Andaman and Nicobar Islands. Dense and thick fog may occur over parts of Punjab, Haryana, North Rajasthan and East Uttar Pradesh.

Moderate to light fog may occur over Bihar, Meghalaya and Tripura. In the next two days, the minimum temperature may decrease in northwest and central India. In the midst of all this, Jammu-Kashmir and Himachal Pradesh are covered in snow and very dense fog is likely in parts of Punjab and Haryana for the next five days.

Delhi-NCR and many parts of North India are experiencing severe cold. Cold winds are blowing due to snowfall in the hilly areas and the cold has increased.
