After the reduction of Dasara holiday, teachers and parents expressed their anger against the education department. As per News Next Kannada report may be Karnataka school summer holidays days reduced.

The Education Minister had promised that the summer vacation would not be cut even as the teachers insisted on extending the Dasara vacation. Summer vacation is likely to be cut short. The education department has already published the SSLC exam provisional schedule.

According to the provisional schedule, the final exam will be held on April 15. Therefore it is mandatory for teachers to attend school till April 15. On the other hand, high school teachers have to appear for the evaluation after the completion of the SSLC examination.

Thus teachers have to engage in busy work till the end of April. If schools start in the middle of May like this time, the teachers will have only a fortnight of summer vacation. The education department has not yet announced the number of days of summer vacation.

Even when the Dasara holiday was shortened, the teachers’ unions submitted a request to the officials of the Education Department, Primary and Secondary Education Minister BC Nagesh and CM Basavaraj Bommai, but the government did not extend the Dasara holiday.

This time the children have faced a lot of health problems as they have started school in the summer itself. On the other hand, it is being heard that engaging children continuously in learning has a negative impact on the mental health of children.

But due to this, the education department not hearing teachers demand and cutting the school holidays. Earlier mid-year leave was given from 2nd October to the end of October, summer leave was given from 1st April to the end of May. However, in recent years, there has been an experiment in cutting children’s holiday periods.
