As of July 3, 2025, there have been announcements of school holidays in certain districts of Karnataka due to heavy rainfall. School holidays have been declared in five taluks and some hoblis of Chikkamagaluru district due to heavy rainfall.

The following areas have a school holiday declared for today (July 3):

Taluks: N.R. Pura, Koppa, Sringeri, Kalasa, and Mudigere.

Hoblis in Chikkamagaluru taluk: Jagara, Khandya, Aldur, and Vastare.

This decision was announced by the Chikkamagaluru District Commissioner, Meena Nagaraj, and applies to Anganwadis, primary, and high schools in these areas.

This is a precautionary measure due to the ongoing heavy rains and potential flood-like situations in these regions of the Malnad area.

Kodagu district has officially declared a holiday for July 3 for Anganwadis, primary and high schools, and pre-university colleges due to continuous heavy rainfall.

While some reports indicate that school closures are likely in other rain-affected areas, particularly coastal districts, Shivamogga, and parts of Chikkamagaluru, most schools in the state are expected to remain open. Bengaluru has not had any school holidays announced due to rain as of now.
