Karnataka colleges become Corona hot spot, day by day covid cases rises in state colleges. 23 nursing students from Kerala tested positive for Covid-9 in Nanjappa nursing College Shivmogga, health department officials said that college and hospital has been seal down on Thursday.

Mysuru has been sounded a high alert after 72 students from Kerala, undergoing nursing courses in the city, tested positive for Covid, health department officials said on Wednesday. Deputy Commissioner Bagadi Gautham has ordered that 5,000 Covid tests be conducted in Mysuru to detect the cases early and prevent spreading of the virus.

As many as 43 students of Kaveri Nursing hostel and 29 students of Saint Joseph College tested positive creating panic among people and health authorities.

3 days before total of over 300 students and faculty have been tested positive for coronavirus in Karnatka’s SDM College of Medical Sciences on Saturday. According to Dharwad’s district magistrate Nitish Patil, six patients out of the total over 300 cases are found symptomatic.

Patil said that the Covid caseload might increase as 1,822 test results are awaited. Initially, 66 people were tested positive in the SDM Medical college. Thereafter, the district administration tested more people including students, staff, and primary contacts of infected students.

About 4000 persons have been tested at SDM college in Dharwad. Similar tests are on at clusters in Mysuru, Hassan and Anekal in Bengaluru CM Bommai said to reporters. Meanwhile, with new clusters emerging in the state, the government has tightened curbs against the Delta variant too.

It is to be noted that several new clusters of coronaviruses have emerged in Karnataka in the recent past, forcing the government to take strict measures to curb the spread of Delta variant too. “The state government has issued the guidelines for setting up clusters where a spurt in the cases had been reported.
