Karnataka: Board exam cancel for 5th, 8th, 9th and 11th class from this year

Karnataka: As directed by the Supreme Court, there will be no board exam this time for 5th, 8th, 9th class and first PUC students of all government and private schools of the state curriculum from 2024-25 academic years. Karnataka Education Minister Madhu Bangarappa said that the examination will be conducted at the school level as before.

Speaking to reporters, the minister said that instead of board examination for 5th, 8th, 9th and 1st PUC students, assessment at school level- 2 (SA-2) as before. Annual examination will be conducted for 11th class. Some private school organizations have appealed to the Supreme Court questioning the conduct of board exams for classes 5, 8, 9 and 11.
