Karnataka government has decided to relax the compulsory attendance rule for students who are going to sit the final exams of SSLC and PUC. Considering the delay in the commencement of physical classes and network issues during online classes, the department has decided make not compulsory 75% attendance at board exams this academic year.

Speaking about this, Primary and Secondary Education Minister B C Nagesh said it was not mandatory to ensure 75% attendance this year. Officials at the college level have been informed about the issue. At least 2,000 to 4,000 students do not attend the exam each year due to lack of attendance.

The Karnataka Education Act, Rule 21 of 2006, states that 75% attendance is mandatory for students to attend Class 10 and Secondary PUC Board Examinations. According to the amendments to the Act following Supreme Court directives, if students are deficient in attendance (less than 75 per cent), such students will not be allowed to attend exams and will not be given admission cards.

2nd PUC exam Time Table Rescheduled: JEE Main Exam background During Secondary PU Examination, the revised schedule has been published by the Board of Pre- University. Business study exam on April 22. Hindi exam on April 23, Economics on April 25. The psychology and chemistry exams will be held on April 26.

Earlier, the Board of Pre- University Education had announced that the secondary PUC examination would be held from April 16 to May 6. The JEE Main Examination Background Revised Schedule has been prepared by board.

The Department of Pre- University has announced that it will conduct a second PUC examination from April 22 to May 11. The PU Board has announced that it will conduct a second PUC examination from April 22 to May 11.
