Earlier in 2011, it was ordered that the education period given in Anganwadi centre should be conducted from 9.30 am to 4 pm. The women and child welfare department said in a circular that instead of this, the time for the education period has been fixed from 10 am to 1 pm.

Anganwadi Centre should meet parents, public, children’s education during the period of imparting education. Pradhan Mantri Matruvandana Yojana beneficiaries and parents of Bhagyalakshme Yojana beneficiaries should visit the Anganwadi after 2 PM for application or discussion.

It is suggested that the concerned Child Development Project Officers, Supervisors, Anganwadi Workers, Assistants should take action for mandatory implementation of this instruction. Anganwadi workers also protested that pre-school learning period should be reduced from 9.30 am to 4 pm.

In this background, the government has reduced the duration of school education. In the meantime, the Department of Women and Child Welfare has ordered to amend the order made regarding the promotion of mini Anganwadi workers as Anganwadi workers and follow the same as before.

An order has been issued that for the posts of Anganwadi workers, first priority should be given to Mini Anganwadi workers who have passed PUC. It has been amended and ordered that Mini Anganwadi workers who have passed SSLC will be given preference for the posts of Anganwadi workers. At the same time, the Women and Child Welfare Department said that the SSLC qualification of Anganwadi workers has been changed to Class VII.
