The Karnataka state government given bad new for students and teacher. Education department has reduce the Dasara holiday for the state schools this time too, and there is strong objection from the teachers.

Dasara holidays, which were given from October 2 to October 29 in the state, but wake of corona were holiday has been reduced. This action was taken to make up for the classes not held during the lockdown. Now the situation is normal but the government is following the same reduction policy as before.

As per report this year Dasara holiday will start from August 8 to 24. Dussehra vacation has been canceled for special school children. Through this, the teachers who are assigned to different duties of the department can do continuous duty.

Here is the details of holidays and total holidays for schools in the year 2023-24.

Management details of total school duty days:

Total school duty days available for academic year 2023-24 – 244 days.

For tests and evaluation work (FA and SA) – 26 days.

For management of extra-curricular activities / co-curricular activities / competitions – 24 days.

School Local Holidays – 10 days.

Days of duty remaining for teaching-learning process – 180 days.

School duty days:

School duty days for the first term – from 29-05-2023 to 02-10-2023.

Second Term School Duty Days – Date 25-10-2023 to Date 10-04-2024.

School holidays:

Dasara holiday from 08-10-2023 to 24-10-2023.

Summer vacation from 11-04-2024 to 28-05-2024.

Bihar education department has reduced the number of festive holidays for the government schools from 23 to 11 between Septembers to December, according to an official notification. School Holiday: Govt cancelled 15 days Mid-holiday.

Bihar government decision to cancel 15 holidays in the government schools of Bihar has drawn criticism from the BJP, who expressed their displeasure with the move. The state education department had issued a notification on Tuesday, stating that the holidays of Raksha Bandhan, Teej, Jiutia and others in government schools have been cancelled.

BJP leader Giriraj Singh slammed the Nitish government for this decision and said: “This time the state government has cancelled holidays on Hindu festivals, who know if Sharia law is imposed in the state tomorrow.”

The notification said that the aim is to increase the number of working days for primary schools to 200 and for middle schools to 220 in a year, but due to various factors like elections, examination, law and order situation, festivals, flood, natural calamity and others, the students’ education gets affected. Therefore, the education department has reduced the number of holidays from 23 to 11.

The holidays that have been cancelled are Raksha Bhandhan, Krishna Janmastami on September 7, Hartalika Teej on September 18 and 19, Jiutia on October 6. The holidays for Durga Puja have been cut down from six days (October 19 to 24) to three days (October 22 to 24).

Chitragupt Puja, Bhaiyaduj have been clubbed into one day on November 15. Gurunanak Jayanti and Kartik Purnima have been merged into one day on November 27. Also said in Notification that the holidays that have been granted by the education department.
