Class 10th, 12th Board Exam 2021: 9 tips to score full marks

The board examinations of 2021 are going to be historical events. With almost no physical classes and only online lectures, students mostly had to self-study and self-discipline themselves to prepare for the boards this year.

Class 10th and Class 12th board exams for the academic year 2020-21 will start from 4th May 2021. At this time, students would be busy with the study of the full course and planning for effective revision before exams.

Here are some tips to make the work easy:

1. Practice makes you perfect: Sharpen your articulation skills. Practice more, get your answers checked by your teacher regularly, work on your weaker areas. Students can also check from model answers and try to ascertain where you are missing out.

2. Good timetable will make your exam preparations easy: Without proper planning, it’s almost impossible to reach your target. Therefore, to make an effective preparation for the upcoming CBSE board exams, every student must prepare a proper study time table first and then make a habit to stick to the same.

3. A calm and clean study environment: This year has been a lot about self-study for students. The above-average students of course will put in a lot of effort. However, the underperforming students get distracted by very small things. Especially for them to do well, parents should ensure a calm and clean environment at home.

4. Throw away the exam fear and just relax: Fear, anxiety and stress will only hamper your preparations and ultimately affect your performance in board exams. So, instead of taking tension, start preparing for the exam with a relaxed mind. You just need to put in the best efforts, the result will automatically come out to be the best.

5. Physical and mental well-being: Covid-19 had impacted the mental and physical health of the students. It is essential that during boards they are mentally and physically fit. If required, the students should seek help from teachers or parents whenever they are stuck with preparations. As the schools are re-opening now, teachers should also involve in some counseling of students and offer help wherever necessary to boost their confidence.

6. Make a strategy to learn long answers for the board exam: It’s quite obvious for students to panic while learning long answers as engulfing the massive text is never an easy job. So, to overcome the terror of learning long answers, students must prepare a strategy for long answers, like breaking them into paragraphs, writing them on paper and relating them to real life situations so as to retain them in the brain for a long time.

7. Colour code your syllabus: Students should colour code the syllabus based on the weightage that every section has. Master the section from which maximum questions come and secure a safe zone. This safe zone consists of 70 percent of your syllabus. Only after mastering this zone, strive to excel in the rest.

8. Take regular breaks to enjoy yourself: Avoid studying for long hours continuously. Instead, take regular intervals every 50-60 minutes. These intervals are important to relax your brain and retrieve your energy to get ready for the next study session. They help to keep your brain focused and alert.

9. Sufficient time should be devoted to self-study: After school or coaching classes, every student must take out some time which he/she can devote completely to self-studies so as to analyse and practice the topics learned in school or coaching class. You must spare enough time so that you are able to achieve some prefixed study targets.
