CBSE Board Exams: Realised important guidelines for students

CBSE Board Exams: Dates for the CBSE supplementary practical exams 2023 for classes 10,12 have been released by the Central Board of Secondary Education (CBSE). For students who applied for supplementary exams, the CBSE practical exams will be held from July 6 to July 20 according to the timetable that was made public.

The practical exams are required to be conducted as per the provisions of the scheme of studies/ examination bye-laws for the following two categories of students:

(a) Students who have been placed in the compartmental category due to repeat in practical (RP) in any subject.

(b) Students who have been placed in the compartmental category due to repeat in theory and practical both (RB) in any subject (s)

Who Need To Appear In Practical Exam During Supplementary Exam?

(a) For Class XII candidates

In Class XII, a student is declared pass in a subject if securing 33% marks combining both in theory and practical and also separately. (i) If any student was unable to secure 33% marks in practical in main examination has been placed in the Compartment category and marked as “Repeat in Practical” (RP).

Such students shall have to appear in the practical examination only in the Supplementary examinations. There is no need for such students to appear in the theory examination as their previous theory marks will be carried forward and accounted for.

(ii) Students who have been placed in Compartment Category due to Repeat in Theory and Practical Both (RB) shall have to appear in the practical examination as well as in the theory examination in the Supplementary Examinations.

(b) For Class X candidates

In Class X, a student is declared pass in a subject on securing 33% marks or more combining both in Theory and Internal Assessment. If a student is placed under Compartment Category and also absent in Internal Assessment, then such candidates will be awarded pro-rata marks in Internal Assessment on the basis of theory marks awarded in the supplementary examination.
