Barkur college Lecturer oppose Swami Vivekananda Jayanti, files police complaint

Swami Vivekananda Jayanti: The students of Rukmini Shedthi Memorial First Grade College at Barkur Udupi disrict Karnataka near here celebrated Swami Vivekananda Jayanti as Youth Day. A lady lecturer of the college however vehemently opposed the celebration.

The Barkur college students, overlooking her opposition, celebrated Youth Day. The lecturer made the students stand outside the class room after the programme. She also sought leave applications from the students who took part in the programme.

The history lecturer of the college had delivered a speech about Vivekananda at the programme. After the programme, the lady lecturer blocked his entry into the class too. Thereafter the history lecturer filed a complaint against the said lecturer with the principal.

After three days, the lady lecturer filed a police complaint against the history lecturer. She also approached the Women’s Commission claiming that she was subjected to mental and physical harassment. Her complaint also named the college principal, deputy principal and librarian who had taken part in the said programme.

SSLC Final Exam Time Table: The Karnataka Secondary Education Examination Board has announced the SSLC Main Examination Schedule. The Karnataka Secondary Education Board has decided to conduct an examination from March 28 to April 11.

March 28- First language

March 3- Second language

April 1- economics, core subject

April 4- Maths and sociology

April 6- Social Science

April 8- Third language

April 11- Science, Political Science, Karnatak/ Hindustani music
