Around 11 students from 11 states move to supreme court seek cancellation of JEE & NEET examination

New Delhi: Amid this pandemic, appearing for examination becomes risky for students. Students across the country have been demanding cancellation of various entrance or competitive exams.

In this row, students who will be appearing for JEE, NEET exam 2020 have demanded cancellation of these exams as well. Students have moved the Supreme Court seeking cancellation of the examination that is scheduled to be conducted in September. Around 11 students from 11 states have filed the plea in the Supreme Court against the conduct of the exams and have asked for cancellation of the same.

The plea also urges for exam to be conducted after normalcy returns post COVID19 crisis. Apart from students, a group of parents has also written to Dr. Pokhariyal, the HRD minister demanding the cancellation of exams fearing the risk of health for their wards. The parents from India wide parents’ association, IWPA in the letter wrote that they seek cancellation of exams. On the other hand, some students wish that the exams are conducted as per schedule as they feel that exams not being conducted now would prove to be more detrimental than beneficial.

They feel that postponement of the examination any further would affect their entire academic year which in turn would negatively affect their career. Meanwhile, students and parents can share their opinions if they want to exams to be conducted in September or they do not want the exams to be conducted in September.

The result of the poll would be out of Saturday, August 8, 2020. JEE examination will be conducted from September 1 to September 6, 2020, at various centres across the country and the NEET exam will be conducted on September 13, 2020.

The admit card for the same is expected to release on August 29, 2020. Education Minister has announced the dates for both the exams a few weeks ago. This year the examinations were postponed due to the pandemic.
