Bank customers usually need an ATM card or debit card to withdraw cash from automatic teller machines (ATMs). However, HDFC Bank is now allowing its customers to take out cash from ATM machines without a debit or ATM card.
Customers who have opened their savings account with HDFC Bank can use this cardless cash withdrawal facility only at HDFC Bank ATMs around the country. “Forgot your ATM card? Here’s how the process works:
Adding a beneficiary: First-time beneficiaries need to be registered. This can be done through Netbanking and is required just once per beneficiary. Once registered, login to Netbanking and select “Funds Transfer” tab. Next, go to “Request,” then “Add beneficiary,” and “Cardless Cash withdrawal.” Enter the beneficiary details, then select “Add and Confirm.” Finally, confirm the mobile number and enter the one-time password (OTP) sent for validation. After the beneficiary has been added, their details will reflect after 30 minutes in your account.
Sending money to beneficiary: Once again, login to Netbanking, select “Funds Transfer” tab and go to “Cardless Cash Withdrawal.” Select the debit bank account and the beneficiary to whom the money is being transferred. Check the beneficiary details and enter the amount. Then, confirm the mobile number and enter the OTP sent to validate the transaction. The beneficiary will receive the following details: OTP, nine-digit order ID and the amount.
Withdrawal by beneficiary: At an HDFC Bank ATM, the beneficiary will select “Cardless Cash” option, displayed on an IDLE loop screen and select the language. Next, the following details should be entered sequentially: OTP, beneficiary mobile number, order ID and amount. Once these details are validated, the machine will disburse the amount.
