Now you can make calls without Network: Vodafone-idea launched this new feature in these states

New Delhi: Vodafone Idea (‘Vi’) has launched its WiFi calling services in two circles Maharashtra & Goa and Kolkata, and plans to introduce it in other circles in a phased manner, as per a report by TelecomTalk.

“Hi! Wi-Fi Calling (“Wi-Fi Calling”) is an integrated service that allows you to make and receive voice calls over a wireless Internet connection such as your home broadband, office broadband or public Wi-Fi.

This should help you make voice calls in areas with low network coverage. This is applicable for Maharashtra & Goa, Kolkata circles and available from 15th December 2020,” the telco’s customer care support team was quoted as saying by the publication.

Media reports going back as early as 2019 had started emerging that Vi would take the lead in launching Wi-Fi calling feature. However, the service launch got delayed due to network integration of Vodafone and Idea.
