Udupi College Toilet Video case: There has been a significant change in the investigation process of the video dispute in the toilet of Paramedical College, Udupi. After the BJP’s protest and ABVP’s accusations, Now SP Akshay Machindra appointed Kundapur DySP Beliyappar as the investigating officer.

There was widespread outrage over the failure of the police during the initial investigation of the case. Following this, Malpe Inspector Manjunath Gowda has been replaced by Kundapur DySP Belliyappa who has now been appointed as the investigating officer.

Students in Udupi are shocked after this case, Students have demanded that a checking team should be formed in every college. Udupi police have obtained information from the accused in the private paramedical college video case. The Malpe police interrogated the accused female students at the spot and collected information.

On Thursday Activists from the Akhila Bharatiya Vidyarthi Parishad (ABVP) staged a protest in Udupi on Thursday, July 27 demanding justice for the Hindu student who was filmed by three Muslim students inside the college washroom.

The activists urged that justice should be given to the victim. The protesters urged the SP to come to the spot and give clarifications. There was a tussle between the protesting students and the police force in the presence of Udupi MLA Yashpal Suvarna.

The protesters submitted a memorandum to the Superintendent of Police Hakay Akshay Machhindra, urging strict action against the three students responsible for the act. They warned that if appropriate measures will not be taken within a limited period, they will intensify their protests across the district.

However, the situation turned tense as a scuffle broke out between the protesting students and the police force. The Superintendent of Police visited the protest site later to address the protestors’ demands and clarification was given. SP said, “We will act only on the basis of the facts and merit of the case. We have sent the phone to the forensic lab to retrieve all the data”.
