Chikkaballapur : In a shocking incident at Nehru Nagar, Gauribidanur, a 25-year-old man allegedly murdered his father after the latter refused to give him money to buy liquor. The accused, Sanjay Kumar, has been arrested by the Gauribidanur Town Police.
According to police reports, Sanjay Kumar attacked his 55-year-old father, Ganganna, with an iron rod, killing him on the spot. The incident occurred on Sunday night following a heated argument over money for alcohol.
Shockingly, after committing the murder, Sanjay attempted to perform his father’s funeral rites as if nothing had happened. However, police, who were alerted by local residents, rushed to the scene and conducted an inquiry. Upon investigation, it was revealed that the son himself was responsible for the crime, following which he was taken into custody.
The Gauribidanur Town Police have registered a case of murder and are investigating further to determine if the accused was under the influence of alcohol at the time of the crime.
In a separate incident in Bengaluru’s Vijayanagar area, a man was bludgeoned to death with a stone during an oil party near a church. The deceased has been identified as Ritesh (32). Preliminary investigations suggest that old enmity led to the murder, and police suspect his friends to be involved.
A case has been registered at the R.G. Nagar Police Station, and efforts are underway to trace the accused involved in the crime.
Both incidents highlight the growing concern over alcohol-related violence and personal disputes escalating into fatal confrontations in the state.
