Bus and Car Accident: 2 dead including teacher, 2 seriously injured

In Horrible accident near Hebri Someshwar in Udupi district Two persons, including a physical education teacher, were killed and two others were seriously injured when a private bus collided with a car while returning from a friend’s wedding. The incident happened near Sitanadi Jakkanamakki here in Hebri talluk  at around 1.30 am on Sunday, June 11. The teacher, who was in a critical condition, has been admitted to Manipal Hospital. The accident took place between a Agumbe bound bus from Udupi and the car of a teacher that was Udupi bound after attending a wedding in Channagiri.

 The deceased have been identified as Subbanna Ganiga, working as a first class assistant at the Udupi DDPI office, and Somshekhar, a physical education teacher at Indira Nagar School, Udupi. Sudarshan, a teacher has been seriously injured, and Satish, who was driving the car, were admitted to Manipal Hospital.

Due to the severity of the accident, they had to struggle to take out the car that had got stuck inside the front portion of the bus. Noticing that no ambulance was available, Pramod, who was passing by this route, put all the four people in his car and took them to Hebri Government Hospital.
