Bajrang Dal activist murder in Karnataka, School college shuts for 2 days

Section 144 was imposed in the Shivamogga district of Karnataka after a 23-year-old Bajrang Dal activist was murdered on Sunday night. He was taken to the Mc Gann district hospital where he passed away. Bajrang Dal activist murder in Karnataka, School college shuts for 2 days.

Karnataka Home Minister Araga Jnanendra said that the matter was not related to the ongoing hijab row in the state. “But we need to wait for further investigations before arriving at a conclusion,” he said. Araga Jnanendra spoke to the family of the deceased, who was a tailor, in Shivamogga.

 “The murder occurred at 9:30 pm on Sunday. The police have uncovered some clues. We will arrest the culprit soon,” he said. He appealed to the people to remain calm. “We are yet to find the motive behind the murder. Reserve police are being deployed in Shimoga,” he said.

A special team has been formed to investigate the murder and rapid action force personnel are being deployed. Karnataka Chief Minister Basavaraj Bommai on Monday spoke to the home minister to take a status update on the investigation. According to sources, Jnanendra informed the CM that 4-5 people could have been involved in the youth’s murder.

Karnataka Home Minister Araga Jnanendra on Monday said that all the schools and colleges in the state’s Shivamogga will remain closed for the next two days. Home Minister Araga Jnanendra rushed to Shivamogga and met the victim’s family. He said the police have got “vital clues” and would soon arrest those behind the incident.

“A 23-year-old youth has been killed. Such incidents should not happen. Police have got the clue and surely, they (the accused) will be arrested soon. I appeal to people to maintain calm,” Jnanendra told reporters. “A group of 4-5 youth murdered him. I don’t know of any organization being behind this murder. Law & order situation under control in Shivamogga.

As a precautionary measure, schools and colleges in city limits have been closed for two days,” the minister further said. Deputy Commissioner Selvamani R told reporters that prohibitory orders under section 144 of the CrPC have been clamped in the town and orders have been given to shut all the schools and colleges.
