Realme Smartphones Become Costlier Again as Prices Rise Across 16 Series

Realme has increased prices of several smartphones in India due to rising component costs, making some premium models significantly more expensive compared to their original launch pricing this year.

Smartphone buyers planning to purchase a new Realme device may now have to spend more money, as the company has once again increased prices for its Realme 16 series smartphones in India. The latest revision affects multiple variants across the Realme 16, Realme 16 Pro and Realme 16 Pro Plus lineup.

The fresh price hike comes at a time when smartphone manufacturers are facing increasing production expenses due to rising memory and component costs. Industry experts say several brands are likely to review pricing strategies in the coming months as supply chain expenses continue to fluctuate globally.

Among the biggest changes, the Realme 16 Pro Plus has reportedly become up to Rs 7000 more expensive compared to its launch price. The updated rates have already started appearing on online retail platforms and official listings, indicating that the revised pricing has come into effect across the market.

According to the new pricing structure, the Realme 16 with 8GB RAM and 128GB storage is now priced at Rs 33999. The 8GB plus 256GB version has reportedly moved to Rs 36999, while the 12GB plus 256GB variant now costs Rs 39999.

The company has also revised prices for the Realme 16 Pro models. The 8GB plus 256GB version is now available at Rs 39999, while the higher 12GB plus 256GB model has reached Rs 42999. Buyers looking at the Pro series may now find themselves competing in a more premium price segment than before.

The Realme 16 Pro Plus lineup has witnessed the sharpest increase. Reports suggest that the 8GB plus 128GB variant is now priced at Rs 46999, while the 8GB plus 256GB version costs Rs 48999. The top end 12GB plus 256GB model has reportedly crossed the Rs 52000 mark.

This latest revision means that the standard Realme 16 series devices are now up to Rs 4000 costlier than their original launch prices. Meanwhile, the Pro models have seen increases ranging between Rs 6000 and Rs 7000 depending on the configuration.

The updated pricing details were initially shared online by tipster Abhishek Yadav, who reportedly posted a retailer circular mentioning the revised prices. Several online stores and official product pages have also started reflecting the new rates.

The price jump may influence buying decisions for customers looking for premium smartphones under Rs 40000. With the new pricing, Realme devices now directly compete with several established premium models from rival smartphone brands in India.

Despite the increase, Realme continues to focus heavily on the premium smartphone segment by offering high refresh rate displays, fast charging technology, advanced camera systems and large memory configurations. However, consumers who were waiting for discounts or festive offers may now have to reconsider their budgets before making a purchase.

Industry analysts believe rising hardware costs and demand for advanced components such as memory chips, processors and camera modules are pushing smartphone brands toward higher pricing. If the trend continues, more smartphone companies could announce similar increases in the near future.
