MakeMyTrip Launches Myra 2.0 AI Assistant to Simplify Travel Booking With Voice Commands

MakeMyTrip has introduced Myra 2.0, an AI powered travel assistant that allows users to complete hotel and flight bookings through simple voice commands without navigating multiple screens or filters.

Online travel booking can often become frustrating for users who have to switch between multiple pages, compare hotels, apply filters and complete payments manually. To make the process easier, MakeMyTrip has introduced an upgraded version of its AI travel assistant called Myra 2.0. The company says the new assistant is designed to handle almost the entire booking process through natural voice interaction.

The latest version of Myra focuses heavily on conversational booking. Instead of searching destinations, comparing rooms or filling out long booking forms, users can now simply speak to the AI assistant in everyday language. The platform then takes care of the remaining steps automatically, including travel recommendations, room selection and payment flow.

According to MakeMyTrip, the new AI assistant has been developed to offer an end to end booking experience. Users no longer need to jump between different screens or manually use filters to find suitable travel options. Myra 2.0 can understand travel related questions in natural language and respond based on individual preferences.

The company says the assistant is capable of handling family travel requirements, preferred hotel categories and even room selection without requiring users to manually enter every detail. It can also assist with uploading important travel documents such as passports and identity cards during the booking process.

One of the biggest highlights of Myra 2.0 is its voice based interface. Users can simply speak commands in a conversational manner and the assistant responds accordingly. This feature is expected to help people who are not comfortable navigating complex travel applications or typing long search queries.

MakeMyTrip has also revealed that AI driven travel booking is becoming increasingly popular across India. Interestingly, the trend is growing faster in smaller cities and non metro regions than in metropolitan areas. The company claims that voice based booking usage in non metro cities is nearly 50 percent higher compared to metro locations.

Another notable trend is the growing use of Hinglish during voice interactions. Users are increasingly speaking in a mix of Hindi and English while searching for flights, hotels and travel packages. This shift is helping AI assistants become more localized and user friendly for Indian travelers.

The company shared that it currently processes more than 30 lakh AI driven travel conversations every quarter. This indicates a strong rise in the adoption of conversational booking tools among users looking for quicker and simpler ways to plan trips.

MakeMyTrip has started rolling out Myra 2.0 in phases. The company says the upgraded assistant will gradually become available to all users over the coming weeks. As competition in AI powered digital services continues to increase, travel companies are now focusing on reducing manual effort and making booking experiences more personalized.

Industry experts believe AI assistants like Myra 2.0 could significantly change how people book trips in the future. By combining voice interaction, automation and personalized recommendations, travel planning may soon become as simple as having a conversation.
