OnePlus Nord CE6 Lite Takes on Poco M8 5G and Nothing Phone 3a Lite in Midrange Battle

The latest smartphones from OnePlus, Poco, and Nothing are targeting budget conscious buyers with powerful processors, high refresh rate displays, large batteries, and advanced camera systems under competitive pricing segments.

The midrange smartphone market in India is becoming more competitive with the arrival of the new OnePlus Nord CE6 Lite. The device has entered a crowded segment where brands are focusing heavily on performance, display quality, battery life, and camera upgrades to attract buyers. The latest OnePlus phone is now competing directly with the Poco M8 5G and the Nothing Phone 3a Lite 5G, both of which already offer strong specifications in a similar price category.

Battery performance has emerged as one of the biggest highlights in this comparison. The OnePlus Nord CE6 Lite comes with a massive 7000mAh battery paired with 45W SUPERVOOC fast charging support. This gives the device a clear advantage for users who want longer backup without charging frequently. Poco M8 5G follows with a 5520mAh battery and 45W charging support, while the Nothing Phone 3a Lite 5G includes a comparatively smaller 5000mAh battery with 33W wired charging.

Display quality is another area where all three smartphones are trying to stand out. The OnePlus Nord CE6 Lite features a 6.72 inch Full HD Plus LCD display with a 144Hz refresh rate and 680 nits peak brightness. Poco M8 5G takes a different approach by offering a 6.77 inch curved AMOLED panel with 3200 nits peak brightness and a 120Hz refresh rate. Meanwhile, Nothing Phone 3a Lite 5G also includes a 6.77 inch AMOLED display with adaptive 120Hz refresh rate support and up to 3000 nits brightness, making it attractive for multimedia users.

When it comes to processing power, the three smartphones offer different chipsets aimed at balancing performance and efficiency. OnePlus Nord CE6 Lite runs on the MediaTek Dimensity 7400 Apex processor, while Poco M8 5G uses Qualcomm Snapdragon 6 Gen 3 chipset. Nothing Phone 3a Lite 5G is powered by the MediaTek Dimensity 7300 Pro processor. All three devices are designed to handle gaming, multitasking, and daily usage smoothly in the midrange category.

Software experience may also influence buyers choosing between these smartphones. The OnePlus Nord CE6 Lite ships with OxygenOS 16 based on Android 16. Poco M8 5G operates on HyperOS 2 based on Android 15, while Nothing Phone 3a Lite 5G runs on Nothing OS 3.5 built over Android 15. Each brand is focusing on delivering a cleaner and smoother interface, though user preference may vary depending on ecosystem and design style.

Camera setups reveal different priorities from the brands. The OnePlus Nord CE6 Lite offers a 50 megapixel primary camera with EIS support along with a 2 megapixel monochrome sensor. Poco M8 5G includes a 50 megapixel main camera and an additional 2 megapixel secondary sensor. Nothing Phone 3a Lite 5G appears slightly more versatile with a triple rear camera setup featuring a 50 megapixel primary sensor, 8 megapixel ultra wide lens, and a 2 megapixel macro camera.

Selfie performance also differs across the devices. Poco M8 5G leads in front camera resolution with a 20 megapixel selfie shooter. Nothing Phone 3a Lite 5G includes a 16 megapixel front camera, while the OnePlus Nord CE6 Lite features an 8 megapixel selfie sensor for video calls and social media use.

Storage and pricing remain crucial factors for buyers in this segment. The OnePlus Nord CE6 Lite starts at Rs 20999 for the 6GB and 128GB variant and goes up to Rs 25999 for the 8GB and 256GB model. Poco M8 5G begins at Rs 21999 and reaches Rs 24999 for the top variant. Nothing Phone 3a Lite 5G is priced from Rs 21999 for the 8GB and 128GB version, while the 256GB option costs Rs 23999.

Connectivity options across all three smartphones include 5G support, dual 4G VoLTE, Wi Fi 6, GPS, and USB Type C ports. However, Nothing Phone 3a Lite 5G additionally offers NFC support, which may appeal to users interested in wireless payments and connected features.

With brands aggressively targeting the premium budget smartphone segment, buyers now have multiple choices depending on whether they prioritize battery life, camera versatility, display technology, or software experience. The competition between OnePlus, Poco, and Nothing is expected to intensify further as consumer demand for feature rich smartphones continues to grow in India.
