OPPO Reno 16 5G buyers in India could soon have to pay more for the smartphone, according to a new report. The company has not officially confirmed the reported price revision yet, so the new figures should be treated as unconfirmed for now.
The reported increase could be as high as Rs 5000 for both storage variants of the Reno 16 5G. The 8GB RAM and 256GB storage version, which was launched at Rs 61999, could reportedly rise to Rs 66999.
The higher 12GB RAM and 256GB storage model may see a similar increase. Its existing price of Rs 67999 could reportedly move up to Rs 72999. If that happens, buyers looking at the top variant would have to spend a considerably higher amount than before.
The possible revision is not limited to the Reno 16 5G. The Reno 16c 5G could also become more expensive. Reports suggest that its 8GB RAM and 128GB storage version may move from Rs 46999 to Rs 49999.
The 8GB RAM and 256GB variant could reportedly be priced at Rs 53999, while the 12GB RAM and 256GB model may reach Rs 59999. OPPO has not yet confirmed these revised prices.
A major concern for potential Reno 16 buyers is how the higher price could affect the phone’s position in the market. At Rs 72999, the top Reno 16 5G variant would move much closer to premium flagship smartphones such as the Samsung Galaxy S26.
The Reno series has traditionally competed by combining premium features with a relatively attractive price. A substantial increase could therefore make the buying decision more difficult for customers comparing it with flagship alternatives.
Rising memory component costs are reportedly behind the possible price adjustment. DRAM and NAND prices have been under pressure as demand for memory continues to increase, particularly from artificial intelligence related applications. Higher component costs can eventually make their way into smartphone pricing.
For now, the reported figures are not official. Buyers considering the Reno 16 5G may want to wait for an announcement from OPPO before making a decision, especially if the price difference could influence their choice of model.
