Nothing has expanded its smartphone lineup in India by introducing new base variants of the Phone 4a and Phone 4b. Both models now have versions with 6GB of RAM and 128GB of internal storage, giving buyers an additional configuration without changes to the existing hardware.
The new Nothing Phone 4a variant is priced at Rs 39999, while the Phone 4b with the same memory and storage configuration costs Rs 35999. Both smartphones are being sold through Flipkart.
The company has retained the existing specifications for these newly introduced variants. This means buyers choosing the lower memory configuration still get the same displays, processors, cameras and batteries offered on the respective models.
The Phone 4a is the more advanced of the two smartphones in terms of hardware. It features a 6.78 inch flexible LTPS AMOLED display with a resolution of 1224 by 2720 pixels. The panel supports a refresh rate of up to 120Hz and can reach a peak brightness of 4500 nits.
Nothing has also included 2160Hz PWM dimming on the Phone 4a display. Corning Gorilla Glass 7i provides protection for the screen, adding another layer of durability to the handset.
Photography is another area where the Phone 4a offers a more versatile setup. Its rear camera system includes a 50MP primary sensor, a 50MP periscope camera and an 8MP ultrawide camera.
The periscope camera gives the phone additional flexibility for photographing distant subjects, while the ultrawide camera can be useful for landscapes and larger groups. For selfies and video calls, the handset has a 32MP front camera.
Performance on the Phone 4a comes from the Snapdragon 7s Gen 4 chipset. The smartphone also packs a 5400mAh battery, providing the power needed for everyday use and extended periods of browsing, media consumption and other activities.
The Phone 4b takes a different approach, with specifications aimed at a slightly lower price segment. It comes with a 6.77 inch Samsung Super AMOLED display offering Full HD Plus resolution of 1080 by 2344 pixels.
The Phone 4b display supports a 120Hz refresh rate and has an instant sampling rate of up to 1000Hz. Its peak brightness reaches 2000 nits, which should help with visibility when viewing content in bright surroundings.
Powering the Phone 4b is the Snapdragon 6 Gen 4 chipset, paired with an Adreno 810 GPU. The hardware is designed to handle everyday applications, social media, streaming and other common smartphone tasks.
The camera arrangement on the Phone 4b is simpler than the Phone 4a. The rear setup consists of a 50MP primary camera and an 8MP ultrawide camera. A 16MP front camera is provided for selfies and video calls.
Battery capacity is one of the stronger specifications of the Phone 4b. The smartphone carries a 6000mAh battery and supports 33W wired fast charging. It also supports 7.5W wired reverse charging, allowing the phone to provide power to compatible devices when required.
Both smartphones support dual SIM functionality and run Nothing OS 4.1 based on Android 16. The software provides the same overall Nothing interface across the two models, while the hardware differences determine their respective performance and camera capabilities.
The new 6GB RAM variants give Nothing more options in the Indian market. Buyers who do not need higher memory configurations can now choose the lower storage tier while retaining the core features of each smartphone.
The Phone 4a continues to offer a stronger camera system, a higher resolution display and a more powerful processor, while the Phone 4b places greater emphasis on battery capacity and a lower entry price.
Existing configurations remain available as well. The Phone 4a can also be purchased with 8GB RAM and 128GB storage, 8GB RAM and 256GB storage, or 12GB RAM and 256GB storage.
The Phone 4b is additionally available with 8GB RAM and 128GB storage as well as 8GB RAM and 256GB storage.
With the addition of the new base variants, Nothing is giving Indian customers more choice across the Phone 4a and Phone 4b range. Both models are currently available through Flipkart, with pricing depending on the selected memory and storage configuration.
