iQOO has launched its new Pad Ultra gaming tablet in China, targeting users who want strong performance in a compact tablet design. The device arrives with a combination of high refresh rate display technology, gaming focused hardware and an active cooling system designed for extended sessions.

The tablet was introduced alongside the iQOO 16 and iQOO Gaming Headset. One of its biggest highlights is the 8.8 inch 2K AMOLED screen, which supports a 165Hz refresh rate. The display is also designed for fast response during games, with touch sampling reaching up to 500Hz.

For gamers, iQOO has added its dedicated Q4 gaming chip to the tablet. The chip is designed to improve frame rates and graphics quality in supported games. The tablet also uses a Snapdragon 8 Elite series octa core processor, paired with LPDDR5X RAM and UFS 4.1 storage.

The iQOO Pad Ultra is available in several configurations. The base version comes with 12GB RAM and 256GB storage and is priced at CNY 6,499, which is around ₹92,900. The 16GB RAM and 256GB storage model costs CNY 7,199, approximately ₹1,02,900.

Users looking for more storage can choose the 16GB RAM and 512GB storage variant, priced at CNY 7,999, or around ₹1,14,400. The top model comes with 16GB RAM and 1TB storage and costs CNY 8,999, approximately ₹1,28,600.

The display can reach a local peak brightness of up to 4,500 nits. This should help maintain visibility in bright conditions while also offering a smooth experience during gaming. The combination of the 165Hz refresh rate and high touch sampling rate is aimed at making controls feel more responsive.

Cooling is another major focus of the iQOO Pad Ultra. The company has equipped the tablet with a five layer cooling system that includes a large active cooling fan, dual air intake and three fan speed levels. The overall heat dissipation area is claimed to be 23,253 square millimetres.

According to iQOO, the cooling setup allows the tablet to maintain performance during demanding gaming sessions. The device can support gaming at up to 165 frames per second in selected games. This system is particularly useful for users who spend long periods playing graphics intensive titles.

The tablet also features the Q flex gaming system. It combines the 500Hz touch sampling rate with dual X axis linear motors and 4D vibration effects. These features are intended to provide more responsive controls and stronger feedback while playing compatible games.

iQOO has also introduced gaming accessories for the tablet. These include a gaming clamp and the iQOO G1 telescopic controller, which are available separately and can provide additional control options for users who want a more dedicated gaming setup.

Battery capacity is another important part of the device. The iQOO Pad Ultra packs a 9,020mAh battery and supports 66W wired fast charging. The large battery is designed to support longer periods of gaming and everyday tablet use without requiring frequent charging.

For connectivity, the tablet supports WiFi 7 and Bluetooth 5.4. A USB Type C port is also included for charging and wired connections. Audio comes through a four speaker setup with Super Audio 8.0, a 10 band equalizer and Spatial Audio support.

Despite its gaming focused hardware, the tablet keeps its design relatively slim. It measures 5.74mm in thickness and weighs around 298 grams. The device is offered in Star Silver and Twilight Black colour options.

For photography and video calls, the iQOO Pad Ultra features a 13 megapixel rear camera and an 8 megapixel front camera. While cameras are not the main focus of this tablet, the setup covers basic photography, video calls and other everyday requirements.

Sales of the iQOO Pad Ultra in China are scheduled to begin on October 5, while pre orders are already underway. The company has not provided details about an international launch at this stage.

The combination of a 165Hz AMOLED display, Snapdragon 8 Elite series processor, dedicated Q4 gaming chip, active cooling and a 9,020mAh battery makes the iQOO Pad Ultra clearly focused on performance. Its multiple memory and storage options also give buyers more flexibility depending on their gaming and storage requirements.

iQOO Pad Ultra is therefore positioned as a gaming first tablet that brings several features usually associated with high performance devices into a relatively compact form factor.
