Jio Premium is the only operator to acquire frequencies at 700 MHz. State-owned broadcasters were left behind due to high prices. So now maximum network is assigned to Jio. If Jio rolls out the 5G network on August 15, it will likely be a pilot test in metro cities across India. The final net service will come by the end of this year. This process may take longer than that.

Jio plans to initially roll out the 5G network in nine Indian cities including Delhi, Mumbai, Kolkata, Bangalore, Chennai, Lucknow, Hyderabad, Ahmedabad and Jamnagar. Jio is also planning to roll out 5G in 1000 other cities including Gurgaon, Noida and other cities.

Jio 5G has been proven in the trial phase to reach speeds of over 1Gbps. Download speed will be 420 Mbps and upload speed will be 412 Mbps. No telecom company has given exact information about 5G price yet. Expect to command a premium rate.
