Covid-19 highest number of cases: Karnataka in danger zone after Kerala

According to the official Covid-19 data released on Sunday morning, 656 new Covid-19 cases were reported in the country in a single day.

Not only this, the increase in the number of Covid-19 cases in the neighboring states has raised concern, which has given an indication that more precautions should be taken in the state. With this, the number of active cases has reached 3,742. Kerala alone has over 3,000 active cases, followed by Karnataka. The state has 271 active cases, followed by neighboring states Maharashtra (103) and Tamil Nadu (123) with cases. Corona has claimed another victim in Kerala in 24 hours.

With 656 daily new cases, Kerala tops the list with 128 cases, followed by Karnataka (96). Neighboring state Maharashtra is next with 35 cases. Union Minister of State for Tourism Shripad Nayka said that people and businessmen need not fear about Covid-19.

Speaking at the ‘Sagar Manthan 2.0’ program in Goa on Sunday, he responded to the question of reporters that if the situation of lockdown is faced again, there is no need to fear it, we have faced it in the past and we will face it even if it comes again.

World Health Organization warning:

The World Health Organization has warned all countries in South-East Asia to take appropriate precautions in view of the increasing incidence of Covid-19, its variant JN.1 and other respiratory diseases. It also said that the public should also follow precautionary measures. Dr. Poonam Khetrapal Singh, Regional Director of WHO (South East Asia) said that countries should conduct tests and share statistics along with increasing surveillance.

Preparation for oxygen, ventilator:

Maharashtra, which ranks 3rd in the country in terms of both active cases and daily cases, has focused on arranging oxygen cylinders and ventilators as a precautionary measure to deal with the situation. Minister Sanjay Bansode has instructed to ensure availability of necessary facilities in government hospitals of all taluks of the state.

Out of 899 tests conducted in Bangalore, 95 people have been confirmed to be corona positive. The health department has set a target of conducting 5 thousand covid tests every day. Karnataka is one of the top three states in the country with the highest number of Covid tests.

The Bangalore has a total of 297 active cases more than other districts of the state. There are 18 cases in Mysore, 7 in Shivamoga, 5 in Dakshina Kannada, 4 in Chikkamagaluru, 3 in Mandya, 3 in Ramanagara, 3 in Chamarajanagar, 2 in Bellary and 2 in Tumkur.

On Monday (Dec. 25), a meeting of the Cabinet Subcommittee on Covid will be held under the leadership of Health Minister Dinesh Gundurao. The government has entrusted the sub-committee with the responsibility of controlling covid, maintenance of equipment, number of infection cases, taking necessary action based on the suggestions of technical advisory committee members.
