World Cup 2023: Shubman Gill Out, Rohit Sharma-Ishan Kishan Opener
Team India top opener Shubman Gill, has left the team for the World Cup 2023 match against Australia. Ishan Kishan is likely to open the innings in place of Shubman Gill.
Before the start of the ICC ODI Cricket World Cup 2023, a shocking news has come out for India. While India is preparing for the match against Australia, the opener of the Indian Cricket team, Shubman Gill, has left the team. Ishan Kishan is likely to start in place of Shubman Gill. Team India will play their first match against Australia at the MA Chidambaram Stadium in Chennai on October 8.
India is already practicing hard for this match. Shubman Gill, who has given the best batting performance in the series against Australia, is out of the match against Australia. Shubman Gill is currently suffering from illness. He has been tested for dengue. Once dengue is confirmed, at least one week of rest is required. So he is almost certain to miss the match against Australia.

Now India will play its second match against Afghanistan team and third match against Pakistan. But there is still no certainty about Shubman’s availability for this match. He has started the innings in many matches along with Rohit Sharma. But the team management and coach Rahul Dravid are not willing to field KL Rahul as a opener. KL Rahul, Shreyas Iyer and Suryakumar Yadav are helping the Indian middle order.

Therefore, the current calculation is that if Ishan Kishan is brought into the fray as an opener, India’s batting force will be stronger. Ishaan Kishan is also in good form. It is not surprising if KL Rahul open the innings instead of Ishan Kishan in the last movement. The first match against Australia will be held in Chennai, and R. Ashwin is likely to play in this match. Ravichandran Ashwin has played well in Chennai. And the pitch there is likely to help Ashwin more. Due to this, a change in the team can be expected.
