The demand to form a new pay commission has been heard for a long time. But now the demand of employees for this has intensified. Employees’ organizations are putting pressure on the government to implement the 8th Pay Commission as soon as possible. However, till now the government has not said anything about this.

Now it is said that the chances of the government accepting this demand of the government employees are high. There are many reasons for this. The main reason for that is that the demand for the formation of a new pay commission was not presented by the employees before the stipulated time. As per rules, the time is imminent for the formation of a new pay commission.

New pay commission is implemented Every 10 years:

The 7th Pay Commission was constituted in 2013. After this it was implemented in 2016. After the implementation of this pay commission, the salary of government employees has seen a significant increase. Now again the employees are waiting for the formation of the next pay commission.

It is worth noting that New Pay Commission recommendations are implemented every 10 years. So it is the expectation of the government employees that the government will release the next pay commission report this year itself.

As per the 7th Pay Commission rules, when the dearness allowance reaches 50 percent, it will be reduced to zero. After this, 50% DA will be added to the then basic salary. Then the gratuity starts from zero. The pension is expected to increase by 4% by July 2023.

Then the total unemployment allowance will increase to 46%. Also, if DA increases again by 4 percent in January 2024, the total pension will reach 50 percent. If this is the case then pay revision will be required. But if there is to be a wage revision, the formation of a new pay commission is essential.

Apart from that, the general elections will be held next year and the government is expected to give a huge gift to the central government employees. During the Parliament session, Finance Minister Pankaj Chaudhary had said that the government has not yet taken any decision on setting up the next pay commission.
