Before this, Rohit had scored 6 centuries and was equal with Sachin. But now Rohit, who has overtaken Sachin, has written the world record of being the most century-scorer in the World Cup with 7 centuries. Rohit Sharma has equaled the fastest batting record to score 1000 runs in the World Cup. The hitman equaled Australian opener David Warner who achieved this feat in the 19th innings.

Former West Indies player Chris Gayle hit a total of 553 sixes (551 innings) till his retirement, which Rohit surpassed in just 473 innings. However, Rohit is ranked 3rd behind Shahid Afridi and Gayle in ODIs and tops in T20I in terms of sixes. With 77 sixes in Test cricket, Rohit is the third most six hitter among Indians.
