The rain that has been raging throughout the tournament and altering the results is threatening to disrupt this important match as well. According to the forecast of the Meteorological Department, there is a chance of rain during the match. While there is a reserve day for the first semi-final match between South Africa Vs Afghanistan, there is no reserve day for the 2nd semi-final match between India Vs England.

Therefore, if the match is cancelled, the Indian team will enter the final without play the semi-final match. This is because of India’s top position in the Super-8 points table. England finished 2nd in the Super-8 points table. The International Cricket Council (ICC) had earlier decided that India will play in the 2nd semi-final in Guyana on June 27, irrespective of their position in the Super-8.

This is because the match is scheduled at a convenient time (8 PM) for Indian viewers. At the same time, it was also clarified that since the final match will be held on Saturday, there is no reserve day for the 2nd semi. But ICC has given 250 minutes extra time to finish the 2nd semi-final match.

Also, if there is to be a clear result in the semi-finals, both the teams need to play at least 10 overs. In League, Super-8, at least 5 overs match was enough for the result. June 30 (Sunday) is the reserve day for the final match it will hold on June 29 at Bridgetown. In case of rain, 190 minutes extra time is allotted on both days.

In the final as well, both teams must play at least 10 overs to decide the result. If the reserve day is interrupted by rain, the ICC will declare both the finalist teams as joint champions.

Reserve day for first semi-final match only:

There is a reserve day for the first semi-final match between South Africa Vs Afghanistan. Thursday is the reserve day for this match, which is scheduled for Wednesday night local time. That means both are Thursdays according to Indian time. The match will start at 2 PM local time on the reserve day.

That means the match will be played from 11.30 pm in India on Thursday. 60 minutes extra time is allowed on match day for first semis, 190 minutes extra time on reserve day. If the reserve day of the first semi-final is also cancelled, South Africa will enter final as per Super 8 point tables.
