The Indian Premier League (IPL) has always been a stepping stone for young Indian cricketers and veteran stars to make their way into the national team. But how many times has it gone the other way when a player has performed so well in national team that it has tempted IPL franchises to race to rope in the player. Sarfaraz Khan will play in these 3 teams in IPL 2024.

Sarfaraz Khan, who remained unsold in the auction last December, is likely to land another IPL contract with the likes of Kolkata Knight Riders and Chennai Super Kings in the battle to sign the youngster after his impressive debut for India against England at Rajkot.

After years of consistent performances in domestic tournaments, Sarfaraz managed to break into the Indian squad in January before earning his maiden international cap last week at the Niranjan Shah Stadium in Rajkot after KL Rahul failed to recover from his quadriceps.

Sarfaraz suffered a heartbreaking run out for 68 in the first innings, where he looked well set to complete his century. However, England bounced back in style to dominate the spinners, scoring 62 runs in an unbeaten 172 in the second innings with Jaiswal to help India win by 434 runs.

After an impressive debut in Rajkot, three franchises are keen to sign Sarfaraz, who went unsold in December last year at an original price of INR 20 lakhs. According to reports, KKR mentor Gautam Gambhir has advised officials at the franchise to pick the 27-year-old in a bid to strengthen a batting line-up that already has the likes of Rinku Singh, Nitish Rana, Shreyas Iyer, Jason Roy, Andre Russell, among a few others.

Royal Challengers Bangalore (RCB) can target Sarfaraz Khan in IPL 2024. Franchise planing to bring back thier former middle order player. He has been part of the RCB franchise in the past, but was released. That happened over a decade ago, but now, Sarfaraz is a different beast altogether. The right-handed batter would have provided solidity to the batting.

Sarfaraz has already represented in three IPL seasons between 2015 and 2018, but has failed to get more chances in an XI that includes AB de Villiers, Chris Gayle and Virat Kohli. Chennai Super Kings (CSK) are also in the fray to sign Sarfaraz and Dhoni has given green signal to the officials, according to the report.

Sarfaraz made 50 appearances in the IPL between 2015 and 2023, scoring 585 runs with a solitary half-century. He played for Punjab Kings between 2019 and 2021 before joining Delhi Capitals.
