The BCCI has been contemplating the idea of organising the entire IPL 2022 league in Maharashtra. However, with the state reporting the highest number of Covid-19 cases in the country at present, the plan doesn’t look as fruitful as it should. In recent activity Kannadiga Punjab Kings Mayank Agarwal said that he wants to play RCB for IPL 2022.

As per report the BCCI will organise the T20 league in South Africa or Sri Lanka if India’s situation doesn’t improve. UAE, where the IPL was held fully in 2020 and partially in 2021, is not being seen as the only viable backup option. “We can’t be dependent on UAE all the time so we decided to explore more options, South Africa’s time difference also works out well for the players,” said a BCCI official.

The league was expected to see the auction take place in Bengaluru next month while the new season was expected to begin in the first week of April. However, the schedule is likely to undergo a major change considering the Covid-19 situation in the country.

Indian team’s star opener Mayank Agarwal has told that apart from Punjab Kings, for which team he would like to play in the IPL. He was retained by Punjab Kings for IPL 2022. He has said that apart from Punjab Kings, he would love to play for RCB in the Indian Premier League.

The 30-year-old cricketer recently gave an interview to Sportskeeda, in which he was asked which other team he would like to represent in the Indian Premier League other than Punjab Kings. To this Mayank replied saying, “Royal Challengers Bangalore.” The right-handed batsman plays for Karnataka in domestic cricket and has a huge fan following in Bangalore.

Mayank Agarwal had a great performance with the bat in IPL 2021. He scored 441 runs in 12 matches with the help of 4 half-centuries. At the same time, Mayank has played 100 IPL matches so far, in which he has scored 2131 runs at an average of 23.42. During this, 11 half-centuries and 1 century have come out with his bat.
