KL Rahul: The first match of the series between India vs England has started at the Rajiv Gandhi Stadium in Hyderabad. Kannadigas KL Rahul has written a new record on the first day of the test match.

KL Rahul : Team India finished the Day 2 with 421 for 7 on scoreboard after 110 overs, with a lead of 175 runs, while playing their first Test against England at Rajiv Gandhi International Stadium in Hyderabad on 26 January.

Following this, KL Rahul and Shreyas Iyer set a good partnership. By Lunch, India scored 222/3 in 50 overs (KL Rahul 55, SS Iyer 34). However, Rehan Ahmed picked up the wicket of Shreyas Iyer (35) in the 53rd over, while Hartley picked Rahul’s (86) wicket in the 65th over.

Ravindra Jadeja then set a partnership with Srikar Bharat (41), who was LWB out by Joe Root in the 89th over. A sad dismissal of Ashwin just followed as he was run out in the 91st over.

After this, both Jadeja (81 not out) and Axar Patel (35 not out) kept the momentum going and gave India the lead of 175 runs. At Day break, India scored 421/7 in 110 overs. For England, Tom Hartley and Joe Root picked two wickets each, while Jack Leach and Rehan Ahmed clinched one each.

India had a great first session of the day scoring 103 runs and losing 2 crucial wickets in the form of Yashasvi Jaiswal and Shubman Gill. By playing in the first test match against India and England, KL Rahul created a new record and became the player who played 50 test matches. He has become the 39th player to have played 50 Test matches for India.

Rohit Sharma is currently leading the Indian Test team. Rohit Sharma has already stayed away from ODIs and T20 matches. It is doubtful that Rohit Sharma will play a long Test match due to his age. So the question arises as to who will be the captain of the Indian Test team in the coming days.

Currently Kannadigas KL Rahul’s name has been heard for the Test captain. In the last few series, Rahul has led the Indian team as India ODI and T20 captain. He also led the Indian Test team. Therefore, there is a possibility that KL Rahul will be appointed as the captain of the Indian Test team in the future.
