IND vs ENG, 4th Test: KL Rahul, Jasprit Bumrah out, Karnataka Player included in squad

IND vs ENG, 4th Test: India will be without pace ace Jasprit Bumrah for the side’s fourth Test against England, set to happen in Ranchi, from Friday, confirmed Board of Control for Cricket in India (BCCI) in a press release. BCCI also added that middle-order batter KL Rahul will continue to be unavailable due to an injury sustained in the first Test of the series.

The 31-year-old’s participation in the final Test in Dharamsala is again subject to a fitness test. Mukesh Kumar, who was released from the squad for the third Test in Rajkot, has joined the squad in Ranchi. Bumrah, who is the leading wicket-taker in the series with 17 scalps, is likely to return to the side for the final Test.

In Bumrah’s absence, India have 2 alternatives to choose from if they opt for a fast bowler. They could either bring back Mukesh to their playing XI or give Akash Deep his maiden international cap. Mukesh missed the Hyderabad Test, but failed to make an impact in Visakhapatnam, after which he was left out of the 3rd Test in Rajkot.

Mukesh, however, looked dangerous in the match against Bihar where he picked up 10 wickets, including a 6-wicket haul in the second innings. On the back of his spell, Bengal beat their opponents by an innings and 204 runs.

There is chance to play Karnataka player Devdutt Padikkal on 4th Test against England. He may grab Rajat Patidar place in playing XI. Madhya Pradesh all rounder Rajat Patidar fail to give best performance in last matches.
