David Warner confirmed to play for RCB in IPL 2022

David Warner Sunrisers Hyderabad (SRH) former captain not retained for the IPL 2022, but the Australian cricketer continues to remain active on social media, frequently replying to his Indian fans in social media David Warner confirmed that he want to play for RCB in IPL 2022.

David Warner had a tough time with the franchise during the IPL 2021. The southpaw was sacked from captaincy first and then dropped from the playing eleven of the side on two occasions. Reports earlier had also suggested that Warner was denied entry in the team bus to the stadium ahead of SRH’s match against the Chennai Super Kings (CSK).

It was very much anticipated that two parties will part ways ahead of the IPL 2022 and that just happened on November 30 when the 2016 champions retained Kane Williamson, Umran Malik and Abdul Samad. With that done and dusted, the fans now are curious to know which franchise will the opener represent next. There are chances that the 35-year-old can be seen leading one of the two new franchises in Lucknow and Ahmedabad.

However, a fan on Instagram requested David Warner to join the RCB who have retained Virat Kohli, Glenn Maxwell and Mohammed Siraj. Warner has responded on the fan comment with emojis which suggest that he could be seen playing along with Kohli and his compatriot Maxwell.

In major development RCB is set to bring new captain from west indies. While the RCB franchise have to rebuild and form a new set of core players, the Bengaluru unit will also have to name a new captain after Kohl stepped aside from the top job post IPL 2021. While some believe Maxwell will land up with the top job, many are of the opinion that KL Rahul, Shreyas Iyer, David Warner or some new face will be added and made the next RCB captain.

Former Team India opener-turned-commentator Aakash Chopra suggested an interesting name who can captain RCB. On his Youtube channel, he stated, “For RCB, West Indies former captain Jason Holder is also an option for captaincy. They need to buy a new captain and it could be Holder. When I think about the pitch over there and other things, I think Holder could be a valuable player. He does well in all the teams.
