Chennai Super Kings picked balanced team in IPL mega auction 2022 last week. The 4-time champions could not buy back every player they wanted from last season, they still managed to pick up skilled players to ensure their combination would not be affected. CSK retained All-rounder Ravindra Jadeja for Rs 16 crores, Captain and Wicket Keeper Batsmen MS Dhoni for 12 Crores, All-rounder Moeen Ali INR 8 Crores and Batsman Ruturaj Gaikwad INR 6 Crores. One of the most successful Indian Premier League teams managed to retain most of its core members in the IPL Auction 2022. However, it still isn’t the charming unit filled with proper match winners. However, there were some very smart buys and yet some others which did not make a lot of sense.

In the end, though, the Kasi Viswanathan led unit which sat on the Auction table for CSK was able to return home satisfied after two days in Bangalore. Mr Viswanathan is the CEO of the franchise. Chennai Super Kings have stuck to their formula of buying back their core and haven’t made much of a change from the combination that worked for them in a largely successful 2018-21 cycle.
