In major development Union Minister Shobha Karandlaje is likely to be appointed as Karnataka BJP president. The news has created a new sensation in state politics as the appointment of Shobha Karandlaje will be the first time a woman has taken charge as the state BJP president.
Regarding the appointment of the state president, the BJP high command has already collected opinion from former Chief Minister BS Yediyurappa and other BJP senior leader and a decision is likely to be taken soon. BS Yeddyurappa’s role will be important if the BJP is to win more seats in the state in the upcoming Lok Sabha elections.
While visiting Delhi to consider making BY Vijayendra the party’s state president from the point of view of party organization, Karnataka former CM Yediyurappa have appealed to the national president J.PNadda. It is said that the high command has calculated that if Union Minister Shobha, who belongs to the same Okkaliga community, is appointed as the Karnataka BJP president, she will get Okkaliga votes in the upcoming Lok Sabha elections.
