Chandrababu Naidu said, “You always need news. I am a veteran and I have seen many political changes in this country. We are in the NDA and I am going to the NDA meeting,” he said. As the 2024 Lok Sabha election results unfolded on Tuesday, early trends showed both the major blocs in a close contest.

By mid-afternoon, the numbers were more certain. By the end of counting, the NDA secured a total of 292 seats, while the Bharat Bloc finished with 232 seats. TDP’s position is crucial at this moment, BJP lacks a majority and needs alliances to form the incoming government at the Centre.

Earlier, TDP chief N. Chandrababu Naidu thanked the people for the overwhelming mandate given to the NDA in Andhra Pradesh. In a social media post on Tuesday night, Naidu thanked Prime Minister Narendra Modi and senior BJP leaders Amit Shah and JP Nadda for their commitment to Andhra Pradesh’s future.

The Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) won 240 seats in the Lok Sabha elections, narrowing down to a simple majority of 272 seats. However, the BJP-led National Democratic Alliance (NDA) comfortably crossed the 272-seat majority, emerging as the largest alliance in the Lok Sabha. According to the Election Commission of India (ECI), the BJP won 240 seats, despite aiming to win 370 seats on its own and over 400 with allies.

The result put the BJP well ahead of the largest opposition party, the Congress, which won 99 seats. The Narendra Modi-led National Democratic Alliance (NDA) won all the seats in Madhya Pradesh (29 seats), Himachal Pradesh (4 seats), Delhi (7 seats), Uttarakhand (5 seats), and Tripura (2 seats).

In the 2019 elections, the BJP won in Delhi, Arunachal, Gujarat, Haryana, Himachal, Nagaland, Rajasthan, Tripura and Uttarakhand, contributing to its 303 seats.
