Karnataka BJP Candidate List: The BJP has already released the first list, which has started preparations for the Lok Sabha elections 2024. Following this, Karnataka BJP leaders are also active and have finalized the list of possible candidates. In surprise political move in Karnataka BJP, Union finance minister Nirmala Sitharaman may contest from Dakshina Kannada.
New faces have also been shortlisted for some constituency and sent to the High Command. Apart from that, there is a strong possibility that Union Ministers Nirmala Sitharaman and Jai Shankar will contest from Karnataka. After the release of the first list of BJP candidates for the Lok Sabha elections, Karnataka BJP leaders held a core committee meeting and shortlisted the possible candidates.
Apart from sitting MPs, dozens of new faces have been included in the list of possible candidates, which is surprising. BJP and JDS alliance leaders are making strategy with the aim of winning 28 constituencies out of 28 in the state. Accordingly, the BJP leaders held a core committee meeting and discussed about the candidates.
Sources said that the name of Dr CN Manjunath, former director of Jayadeva Institute and son-in-law of former Prime Minister HD Deve Gowda, has been proposed to contest from Bengaluru Rural Lok Sabha constituency, where DCM DK Shivakumar’s brother DK Suresh is an MP.
New names have been proposed for Bengaluru North and Chamarajanagar as former CMs DV Sadananda Gowda and V Srinivas Prasad announced their retirement. It is said that the BJP leaders have come to the decision of finalizing Union Minister Prahlad Joshi from Hubballi-Dharwad and Shobha Karandlaje from Udupi-Chikkamagaluru constituency.

It is said that Union finance minister Nirmala Sitharaman will contest from Dakshina Kannada constituency. Previously, this constituency was held by former Karnataka BJP President Nalin Kumar Kateel and also Minister of External Affairs of India S. Jaishankar will contest from Bengaluru North constituency. Previously, this constituency was held by former Union Minister DV Sadananda Gowda.
Also, names of former minister V Somanna from Tumkur and former CM Jagdish Shettar from Belagavi have been shortlisted. Since incumbent MP GS Basavaraju has announced his retirement from Tumkur constituency, the name of V Somanna has been heard as the new candidate. Also, there is a possibility that the ticket will be given to Jagdish Shettar instead of sitting MP Mangala Angadi in Belagavi.

Along with this, KE Kantesh, son of former minister KS Eshwarappa, has been shortlisted from Haveri constituency and Alok Vishwanath, son of Yalahanka MLA SR Vishwanath, has also been shortlisted from Chikkaballapur constituency. Former ministers Dr K Sudhakar and BC Patil are strong aspirants for these two constituencies respectively.
