Weather Update: IMD Issued Heavy Rainfall Alert in these places

IMD has forecast isolated rain over Odisha, sub-Himalayan West Bengal and Sikkim on March 7 and 9.

The Indian Meteorological Department (IMD) has said that Jammu and Kashmir, Himachal Pradesh and Uttarakhand will experience light to moderate rain with thunder and lightning in the coming week. Weather Update: IMD Issued Heavy Rainfall Alert in these places.

Meanwhile, Delhi recorded a minimum temperature of 9.6 degrees Celsius on last Friday, five notches below the season’s average, the India Meteorological Department said. A fresh Western Disturbance is likely to affect the Western Himalayan region next week, with the possibility of thundershowers over Himachal Pradesh. Scattered light/moderate rain/snowfall over Jammu-Kashmir, Ladakh, Himachal Pradesh and Uttarakhand on March 10 and 12.

Lightning likely over Himalayan states on 13th and 14th March – Fairly widespread light rain or isolated thundershowers. The Meteorological Department has issued a ‘yellow’ warning for thundershowers at isolated places from March 11 to 13 in Himachal Pradesh.

Punjab may witness scattered showers on March 12 and 13. IMD has forecast isolated rain over Odisha, sub-Himalayan West Bengal and Sikkim on March 7 and 9. Light to moderate rain and snowfall in Arunachal Pradesh next week. Light isolated rain likely over Coastal Andhra Pradesh on March 8 and 9 and Andaman and Nicobar Islands during the 2nd half of the week.

According to IMD, hot and humid conditions are likely to prevail in isolated pockets of Kerala, Tamil Nadu, Andhra Pradesh, Rayalaseema and Odisha. Karnataka is likely to witness higher than normal temperatures this summer – March to May, the weather watchdog said. The maximum temperature may not cross 35 degrees Celsius in March and normal rainfall is likely this month, officials said.
