Yesterday there was unexpected rain in national capital Delhi. Now the unexpected rain with thunder is likely to continue today as well, it has started raining in some parts of Delhi since early morning. Due to the heavy rains that started yesterday morning in Delhi, road potholes and low-lying areas were inundated and the people of the city, who have been facing a harsh winter so far, have suffered further due to the rain.

According to the India Meteorological Department, it is currently raining lightly at some places in Delhi. It has been warned of moderate to severe thunder, lightning and heavy rain with gusty winds. Western Himalayan regions (Jammu, Kashmir, Ladakh, Himachal Pradesh and Uttarakhand) are also receiving rain and snowfall activity.

The IMD said rains are likely to continue tonight and morning as per the satellite view. Meanwhile, some parts of Jammu, Kashmir, Ladakh, Gilgit, Baltistan, Muzaffarabad, Himachal Pradesh and Uttarakhand received light and widespread snowfall. Light to moderate rain is likely over Punjab, Chandigarh, Haryana and Delhi.

The India Meteorological Department had earlier said scattered rains are likely over Uttar Pradesh and East Rajasthan on February 1 and tomorrow. In some parts of Karnataka, including Bengaluru, the weather will be overcast, and there is a possibility of light rain in the coastal and hilly parts.
