According to a report by Sky News, epidemiologists in the United Kingdom have warned that viruses that can be transmitted from animals to humans could lead to another pandemic. “The next epidemic is very likely. It could be two years or even longer. But we need to be vigilant and prepared to face such adversity,” warns Dr Nathalie McDermott, a lecturer at King’s College London.

Nathalie warns that global warming and deforestation are increasing the risk of viruses or bacteria being transmitted from animals to humans. The commemorative meeting was organized by the Covid-19 Care Network (CCN). Attendees remembered those who could not be cremated by their family members due to pandemic restrictions.
