Jet Airways founder Chairman Naresh Goyal and his family properties worth Rs 538 crore in London, Dubai and various cities of our country have seized by enforcement department (ED). Jet Airways founder Naresh Goyal, 74, was arrested by the enforcement department on September 1.

He was arrested under the Prevention of Money Laundering Act for fraud by taking a loan from the bank and not repaying it, and was produced in a special court in Mumbai the day before yesterday. Then the enforcement department filed a charge sheet against him. In this case, Naresh Goyal and his companies owned properties in London, Dubai and various cities of India worth Rs 538 crore were seized by the Enforcement Directorate yesterday.

This includes 17 flats, bungalows and commercial premises, the enforcement officials said. In this case, Jet Airways was suddenly caught in a financial crisis. After this, the company ceased operations in April 2019. Subsequently, Naresh Goyal resigned as the company’s chairman. After that, on behalf of Naresh Goyal, he filed a petition in the National Company Law Tribunal in June 2019 to declare Jet Airways bankrupt.

Meanwhile, Naresh Goyal had taken a loan of Rs.848.86 crore from Canara Bank. In this, he was accused of fraud by taking a loan of Rs.538 crore. A complaint was lodged with the CBI on behalf of Canara Bank in this regard. CBI officials investigated and booked Naresh Goyal, his wife Anita and former officers.

It was also revealed that illegal money transfer had taken place. The enforcement department then stepped in and started an investigation. Then it was revealed that money was laundered. Following this, Naresh Goyal was arrested by the Enforcement Directorate last month.

That is, when it was revealed that he had earned income by defrauding the money bought from Canara Bank, the arrest was made. The enforcement department also found that properties were purchased in various states of India and abroad with that income. In this case, the enforcement department has seized the assets of Jet Airways.
