IMD issued heavy rainfall alert for next 4 days: issued orange alert

Weather Update: The India Meteorological Department (IMD) has issued an orange warning for heavy snowfall and rain in Jammu and Kashmir, Ladakh and Himachal Pradesh over the next 4 days. IMD Issued Heavy Rainfall Alert for next 4 days: Issued Orange Alert.

IMD predicted that on April 13 and 14, J-K, Ladakh may witness isolated heavy rain or snowfall (64.5-115.5 mm) and Himachal Pradesh may experience isolated heavy rain or snowfall (64.5-115.5 mm) on April 14. Regarding heat waves, on April 15, the Meteorological Office had forecast a heat wave situation in Odisha.

Additionally, hot and humid conditions are likely over Kerala, Mahe, Coastal Andhra Pradesh, Coastal Karnataka, Rayalaseema, Tamil Nadu and Odisha, it said. Besides this, the India Meteorological Department has forecast light to moderate rain over Madhya Pradesh, Chhattisgarh, Vidarbha, Marathwada, Madhya Maharashtra from April 11 to 13.

Apart from this, isolated light to moderate rain with thunder and lightning is forecast over Gangetic West Bengal, Jharkhand, Odisha, Bihar and Andaman and Nicobar Islands during April 11-13. From April 11-15, isolated light to moderate rain, thunder, lightning and gale-force winds are expected over Telangana, Kerala, Mahe, interior Karnataka, and southern states of Coastal Andhra Pradesh-Yanam, Tamil Nadu, Puducherry and Karaikal.

Lastly, fairly widespread rain with thunder, lightning and squalls is expected over northwest Uttar Pradesh, Punjab and Haryana from April 13-15 and Rajasthan from April 11-15.

The India Meteorological Department has predicted isolated hailstorms in Jammu and Kashmir, Himachal Pradesh, Punjab, Haryana-Chandigarh and Rajasthan on April 13. Isolated hailstorm is forecast over Vidarbha in Madhya Pradesh on April 11 and 12.
