Congress announced new guarantee: Rs 5000 for each family
All India Congress Committee (AICC) president Mallikarjuna Kharge on Monday unveiled the party's first manifesto promise to the people of the state - for each family will get Rs 5,000 monthly for under the scheme 'Indiramma Abhayam'.
Congress announces ‘Indiramma Abhayam’ promise for Andhra Pradesh’s poor In a bid to kick off the Congress party’s campaign for the upcoming general elections, All India Congress Committee (AICC) president Mallikarjuna Kharge on Monday unveiled the party’s first manifesto promise to the people of the state – for each family will get Rs 5,000 monthly for under the scheme ‘Indiramma Abhayam’.
APCC chief Y.S. Sharmila announced the Indiramma Abhayam Yojana at the Congress party’s maiden election meeting, ‘Nyaya Sadhana Sabha’, held in Anantapur. A large check with election promise printed on it, along with Mrs. Saisharmila was displayed at the event.
Targeting Prime Minister Narendra Modi for the “development” of Andhra Pradesh after partition, Mr. Kharge said the Congress party will not rest until the people are guaranteed “complete justice in the form of Special Category Status (SCS)”.
He recalled the tenure of late Y.S. Rajasekhara Reddy was Chief Minister, Kharge said that Andhra Pradesh saw an era of development under him. YSR administration should return to Andhra Pradesh. So we chose his daughter Sharmila as the head of APCC. The AICC president said that all Congress leaders, workers and public are standing by her.

Describing Mr Modi as a “dictator”, the AICC chief said the BJP-led NDA government posed a serious threat to the country. “People of India must unite to defeat fascist forces. “Only by defeating Modi can we save democracy and uphold the Constitution,” he said.
The Congress leader lamented that it was “shameful” on the part of the Prime Minister to claim “personal credit” for any development activities. “Mr. Modi says he has built ports and airports and ensured food for 80 crore people.

Why don’t they say that all this is from BJP? Real development in post-independent India was initiated by Jawaharlal Nehru in the form of schools, dams and reservoirs. The Congress has always stood for the farmers – the poor, the small traders and the labourers. But Modi is only for brutal capitalists,” Kharge alleged.
