Kerala Covid cases rise, imposed complete lockdown from tomorrow July 31st

Kerala: Complete lockdown will be imposed in Kerala on 31st July and 1st August due to rising COVID-19 cases in the state. The government is sending a 6-member team to Kerala headed by Director, National Centre for Disease Control.

As a large number of COVID cases are still being reported in Kerala, the team will aid the state’s ongoing efforts in COVID management, Union Health Minister Mansukh Mandaviya said.

The Kerala govt has revised COVID-19 guidelines, allowing photo studios to open on allowed dates in the wake of requirements for the National Eligibility cum Entrance Test (NEET). Shops selling seeds and fertilisers were also put under essential services in a recent govt direction.

The price section of the Economics and Statistics department also added in an essential category in order to help these shops remain operational on all days with the required number of staff.
