“There was a propaganda that the disease was spreading in the districts where the minority sections are more. But in Pathanamthitta, which has a large minority population, the TPR is only six to seven,” a senior official told media. “In some other districts the incidence rate is 13 per cent and there are districts which report up to 17 TPR. The propaganda that the number of cases is not less in a district with a large minority population is likely to go wrong, ”he added.

The central team has found that those who remain in home isolation are not closely monitored. “People who are into home isolation go to neighbouring houses and so on. The initial conclusion is that this is causing the virus to spread,” official sources said. “People working in the public health sector are tired.

In states like Kerala and Tamil Nadu, there are people to work downstairs. Covid had been closely monitoring those who were in home isolation from the beginning during the outbreak. But at present, health workers are not able to do that, and because of this, those who are being monitored are coming out,” he said. The central team also suggested that those with mild symptoms should be admitted to the hospital.

The Centre is also concerned about the rising death toll in the state. Weekly deaths have been on the rise for the past three weeks. The death toll in Kerala was relatively low. Currently, an average of 65 deaths are reported per day.
