The India Meteorological Department has issued a red alert for the coastal districts of Dakshina Kannada, Udupi, and Uttara Kannada in Karnataka, indicating the possibility of extremely heavy rainfall in those areas on Friday. Additionally, an orange alert has been issued for Saturday.

A red alert has been issued for Raigad district of Maharashtra for today i.e. on 6 July, warning of excessive rainfall, officials. In Goa, IMD has forecasted heavy monsoon rains for today and the state Education Department has also announced a one-day holiday for schools.

In Mumbai, IMD has issued an orange and a yellow alert for the city, predicting heavy rainfall from today onwards. Starting today, the West coast of India, including Kerala, Karnataka, Goa, and South Maharashtra, can expect a decrease in rainfall.
