Teaching Kannada to outside state students soon: K Sudhakar

Health and Medical Education Minister Dr. K. Sudhakar announced that a program will be implemented by the state government to teach Kannada to students from outside the state. Teaching Kannada to outside state students soon: K Sudhakar.

Speaking at the 67th Kannada Rajyotsava ceremony held on Tuesday on behalf of the Bengalur Rural District Administration, the minister spoke about this. Health and Medical Education Minister Dr. K Sudhakar said that the program of teaching Kannada language to out-of-state students in all medical, para-medical and nursing colleges of the state will be implemented from this year.

Learning mother tongue is given priority in the National Education Policy of the Central Government. In the field of medical education, some states have already allowed learning in the mother tongue. Also, Health and Medical Education Minister Dr. K. Sudhakar announced that a program will be implemented by the state government to teach Kannada to students from outside the state.

Kannada has a history of about two thousand years and it is said that Kannada is at the 27th position among the six and a half thousand languages in the world. Kannada script has been described as the queen of world scripts, he said.
